Theatre Policies
House Manager
The House Manager is available to you and is there to answer any questions you may have regarding:
parking
what time the intermission starts and ends
what time the performance concludes
The House Manager is on duty in the lobby beginning one hour before each scheduled performance and will be available throughout the performance and at the conclusion of the performance. Should you need to speak to the House Manager ask the Box Office, concession worker or any usher to identify that person.
Late Seating
All performances begin promptly at the time listed on your ticket. To ensure the enjoyment of other patrons, and in consideration of the performers as well as considering the intimate design of the theater, latecomers will be seated at an appropriate pause in the performance and at the sole discretion of the House Manager.
Cell Phones/Cameras and Recording Devices
Please silence all cell phones, alarms and other electronic devices when you enter the theater or when prompted by the ushers.
The use of cameras and recording devices is strictly prohibited.
Unauthorized use of these devices will result in them being confiscated by the ushers or House Manager until the end of the performance or the patron being asked to leave.
Smoking
Smoking is not permitted in the building. It is permitted on the Washington Street side of the building and must be done in the rock garden twenty feet to the West of the Washington Street entry plaza.
Children’s Attendance
Not all productions are suitable for young audiences. When the production is appropriate children over six years old are permitted at performances when accompanied by an adult. If you have any questions regarding the content of a production or its suitability for young audiences, please call the Box Office at 602-258-8129 for more information.
No Food and Beverages
Eating and drinking are not permitted in the theatre. There is a wide selection of refreshments available at the concession counter to be enjoyed in the James and Tessie Sharp Pavilion before the curtain and during the intermission.
Accessibility
The Helen K. Mason Performing Arts Center is designed to be totally accessible. There are no stairs or inclines from the parking at the entrance to the designated accessible seating in the theater. Patrons needing special accommodations should notify the box office when making your reservation, and plan to arrive at least 45 minutes before curtain time and alert the House Manager of your arrival.
